Reviews of Red Roof Inn Meriden
"My dog and I have stayed here often recently and I haven’t had a problem. I find the rooms to be very clean. Bathrooms very clean as well. Bed is comfy. My dog always sleeps very well. Staff is nice. Ample space outside to walk your dog. Why dog parents don’t use poop bags angers and baffles me. Regardless, we’ve had to stay often recently and over the course of having three different rooms I’d say they’re all very clean and cleaning staff comes daily."
"Room was ok for the price but my wife got her back license plate stolen from the parking lot. I’m sure it’s a regular problem at this location because I noticed that employees cars were parked by the front door in the fire lane for a full day and night so obviously they don’t want their cars getting robbed like the customers cars do. Be careful"
"We come down to this area every October, and always stay here. I gave it only 4 stars because I have stayed in better hotels, but for a much higher price. We are pretty low maintenance, and we only have a few “must have” requirements. 1. Must be clean (we always bring Lysol wipes to wipe down everything at every hotel we stay at), but it’s important that the mattress is free of bedbugs & sheets are clean free of hair or any other indications that they aren’t clean. Only one time did we find a hair in the sheets, (which may have been a fluke), but we asked for new sheets at the desk and they promptly gave us some. 2. Must be pet friendly. We have a dog and she travels everywhere with us. I absolutely love Red Roof for this because they don’t charge an extra fee for pets (HUGE priority for us). We have never come home with fleas from staying here either. 3. Has to be a safe area. We’ve seen some weirdos out in the parking lot who we’re probably staying there, but we’ve never had any theft or harassment from any of them, so it seems safe to me. 4. Have to have at least a somewhat comfortable bed because I have a bad back. I wouldn’t say the beds are the most comfortable I’ve slept in, but are certainly adequate. I never woke up with a stiff back after sleeping here. Some people prefer an included breakfast, but we don’t care about that. We’d rather have an inexpensive rate and just eat somewhere else in the am. It’s nice that they offer coffee though, and it’s pretty decent for being free. I don’t remember having problems with the wifi or not, so I can’t comment on that. I do wish they had cable instead of Roku, but it’s not a dealbreaker for us. We’re going to be staying here again this upcoming week, and I hope nothing has changed for the worse. All in all, if you’re not super picky, this hotel is a great option."
"I booked a room here for one night for the price. For the most part the stay was fine, but there were a few things I would be aware of. 1. The floors in our room were greasy to the point of slipping and having to wear shoes to walk around. 2. The pillows are extremely thin and flat. 3. At around 3 in the morning I woke up to someone running in the halls and jiggling our door handle. Thank God they weren’t able to get in. 4. The front desk staff took their sweet time to check us in. Unless you’re desperate or hardly going to be in the room I would personally recommend elsewhere."
