Reviews of Da Legna at Nolo
"Damn good pizza, but skimmed out HARD on toppings. (Sausage, black olive) Edit: looks can be deceiving. Still good but I literally haven’t eaten anything all day as a blue collar worker. Anything is good right now… Undercarriage was chewy, not crispy. This was my first New Haven pizza ever, and it was disappointing. I’ve had wayyyy better at the handful of other New England places that I have been to. I still think that NE has the best pizza in the world. Just not here. $30 too. Not $30 good. Maybe $18 good on on a good day."
"Did not like the gluten free pizza. Super expensive (+$7) and not very good. Very sweet and dense, not like traditional pizza dough (I have had a lot of GF pizza, this didn’t rank up with the best). I got the Rosemary pizza and it was super dry with almost no cheese. Ingredients were not very well distributed. My family liked their pizzas, but be aware the GF option is great to have but might not satisfy."
"An amazing new entrée into the New Haven pizza scene. Large open space with long tables for those in a group or comfortable booths for smaller parties. Menu is diverse and awesome as there a lot of choices beyond pizza, especially the salad offerings which are large and other items including pasta. Of course I love pizza and there are many varieties served in a small size ($20) or large size($29). These prices reflect specialty pizzas with multiple toppings and handcrafted. If you want the basics, you can get them at a much less cost. Beer and wine and cocktail offerings round this out."
"New Haven, CT is known for their pizza. As someone from New Jersey, this is a statement. Many of the other iconic New Haven pizza places have lines out the door- even in the rain. We decided on Da Legna because it was the only restaurant without a line and we could sit down. The pizza was good. The crust was great. There’s also vegan options, which I appreciated. The restaurant itself would be great for a private party."
"It’s a great pizza place to be if you are looking for place where you can have cocktails and pizza.his place is unique - it serves great pizza and drinks too!! I loved it. Their wild mushroom pizza with truffle flavor is must try."
