Hampton Inn & Suites Hartford/Farmington

"I am a diamond member and have traveled the country staying at predominantly Hilton hotels, and this is the very first Hilton I have ever stayed at where I was sitting in my room, teaching my class online, when the entire room shook, and my hypermobile joints shifted and flared with agony. My right elbow did not sublux, but it almost did and it is an excruciating pain today. I don’t know how many weeks it will be before this calms down and everything is stable again. O have Ehlers Danlos syndrome, and part of the reason I normally stay at Hilton hotels because it’s predictable. I know what to look for, and I know what to ask for, and I’m usually not allergic to the detergent that used on the bedding. When I checked in, I told the friendly woman named Peta that I needed a room that was not near an elevator or HVAC unit or pump or anything that causes vibration because my joints are fragile due to a medical condition (it’s like brittle bones, but it’s your joints, not your bones). She was super gracious, and she gave me a room that was so quiet and peaceful and I felt really grateful and I started teaching my class. I was just about to wrap up when I heard a loud bang and my hips and my feet and my back and my neck felt vibration. Go all the way through it as the whole room literally shook. I called downstairs immediately and I asked what that was. They said they would send someone up to look. I am pretty darn sure it was somebody slamming a door. Most hotels have doors on hinges that slowly close them, so it is physically impossible for anyone to slam a door. I think I’m just flabbergasted that there is a hotel where it is possible for someone to slam a door that forcefully, and these are heavy doors. That’s the only reason I can imagine it could shake a whole room like that, And cause noise and disruption to someone next to that room. In any case, I will never stay here again, and I will add to my list of things to look for, the fact that doors have hinges that cannot slam. It is also a little frustrating that I booked with points and it’s going to be a process to get those points back. The service was great and everyone was friendly, so I don’t have a problem with that. The rooms were clean and beautiful and otherwise it was very quiet. I was super happy. But that is intolerable and it has caused me injury physically and I’ve never had anything like that happen as I said, I’ve traveled to all but three states staying at Hilton hotels. I’m just shocked."

"A wonderful hotel for all your needs. We had to book a room there a night before my surgery. Front end staff were kind, considerate of our special situation and helpful. Room was suite. It was VERY nice. It had a refrigerator, microwave, kitchen sink with pots and pans, and a very nice cook-top. Room was clean and comfortable. They offered a very nice free breakfast (for my partner and all guests). He told me it was very nice, tasty and plentiful. Would highly recommend this hotel for whatever need you may have in this area in Farmington."

"Everything was OK. But the shower drain did not drain properly. No fan in the bathroom. Carpet need a good deep clean my daughters socks were filthy after walking across the room. Other than that it was good."

"I had a pretty good experience staying at this hotel. The room was clean and ready on time. Everything with online check in and check out worked smoothly. The amenities in the room were good as well. My only issues were that the room was fairly dark and didn't have much lighting. Also, there were no towels in my room upon my arrival so I had to go to the front desk and pick them up myself. I wouldn't mind staying here again, but it wasn't anything outstanding."

"Hotel was in a good location. Rooms were adequate. Pool and health club was good. Service needed improvement. They didn’t have Hilton honors waters or bags when I came in. When I went to talk to the front desk- James- he dismissed me after trying to help him out."
