"For a more rural town I expected a cleaner more organized store. The store is poorly designed and frozen foods are in the wrong place in my opinion. I stopped here because it was on the way home and easier to stop there on my way back home. The selection was decent prices are the usual for a stop and shop. Also I used self checkout and the associate was a little over zealous. They were kind but I didn’t need help and felt like I was being watched. I would come back in an emergency but they could really use some reorganization and updating the look."

"This photo that I'm attaching is the end result of picking through just 4 wings. I saved some to bring home so I could take a picture and write this review. I went to the Stop and Shop in Canaan because I needed something to eat while I was on my work break and wanted some sort of protein that was at least a relatively lean source. I couldn't have picked a worse choice of "protein" than the disgusting wings that I had bought there. Trust me, my standards are already low for Stop and Shop as they all are pretty gross due to their fast expiring produce that isn't organic (organic produce expires faster) as well as their nasty meat and fish department which I'm surprised hasn't gotten shut down by health inspectors if I'm being 100% honest. These wings were at least 65% fat and I'm not exaggerating. The other 20% was bones leaving about a whopping 15% of meat to be eaten. I've never seen so much fat on a chicken wing and attached to the bone where there should be meat. Like I said my standards were already so low for every stop and shop location due to their lack of cleanliness and seemingly expired or close to expiry meat, fish, and produce, that I usually just get some canned goods or a protein bar there but today I wanted real food instead of all the erythritol that proteins bars have now. Boy do I wish I just grabbed a protein bar in hindsight. Anyone that's new to New England should be aware of these things before wasting money at stop and shop. I don't like writing negative reviews about businesses but this was absolutely ridiculous and disgusting. I think it takes either a lot of effort or a severe lack thereof to produce a product this bad. The only thing that is reasonable to buy at Stop and Shop is canned goods. These wings that I bought should either be free or just not sold at all."

"Edit: to be fair, I didn't actually shop in this grocery store. We stopped in on a trip from NY on our way to Bridgeport to see a concert. The employees were friendly and it appeared well stocked, but I still stand by my first impression. The building is outdated and the bathrooms were not kept up. Skip this grocery store on your way through. It's definitely in need of updating to the building and the bathrooms are less than desirable."

"This store was great. I would recommend people coming to this store to buy whatever they need. We were buying stuff for BBQ as well. It has all we need."

"This was a great place to go and buy fancy shampoo for your cat. As a cat person I am happy to wash my own hair with pure rain water and dish washer liquid (if it's my birthday), but I am more than Happy to splash out on this cat shampoo. Some people argue there's really no reason to wash a cat as they've evolved to do a top notch job themselves, but impersonally relish the challenge of soaping up and annoying my cat."
