Community Bike Workshop

Welcome to the Community Bike Workshop, located at 11 Allen Street in Dunedin, New Zealand. As a bicycle store and point of interest, our institution is dedicated to promoting and supporting cycling as a sustainable, healthy, and enjoyable form of transportation.

At the Community Bike Workshop, we have a wide range of tools and skilled volunteer mechanics who are ready to assist you in fixing your bike. Whether you need a simple repair or a complete overhaul, our team is here to help. We understand the importance of having a reliable bike, and we want to ensure that everyone in our community has access to one.

If you are in need of a bike, we also have a selection of donated pre-loved bicycles available for both adults and children. These bikes may be a perfect fit for your needs, and our mechanics can help you make any necessary repairs before you take it home. We kindly request a koha (donation) of $20-$30 if possible, as this helps us cover our expenses and continue providing our services to the community.

Currently, our workshop is open on Saturdays from 9:30am to 12:30pm and on Tuesdays from 3:30pm to 6:00pm. We understand that these hours may not be convenient for everyone, but we are working towards expanding our availability in the future.

Our founder, Peter, is passionate about building a strong volunteer bike mechanic base and welcomes any individuals who are interested in joining our team. Additionally, we greatly appreciate donations of tools, parts, and funds, as they enable us to continue offering our services to the community.
