Welcome to the Centre for Sustainability, located at Dunedin, Castle Street North, 563 in New Zealand. Our institution is an establishment and a point of interest dedicated to collaborative research for a healthy, sustainable, and resilient future. Through our research, teaching, and partnerships, we tackle local and global sustainability challenges.

At the Centre for Sustainability, we believe in drawing knowledge from various systems, including social and physical sciences, mātauraka Māori, and local knowledge. As an interdisciplinary research centre, we are hosted by the School of Geography in the Division of Humanities at the University of Otago. Our collaboration allows us to delve into a wide range of sustainability issues, exploring their complexities and finding innovative solutions.

If you are a student returning to the University of Otago next year, we have an exciting opportunity for you. We offer scholarships worth $6000 for 8-10-week research projects during the holidays. These projects will be based at the Centre for Sustainability in Dunedin. To learn more about these summer scholarships, please refer to the provided PDF. The closing date for applications is on Friday, 22 September 2023, and the start date for successful applicants will be in early to mid-November 2023.
