Welcome to the Otago Racing Club, located at Mosgiel, Gladstone Road North, 285. We are a premier establishment and point of interest in New Zealand, known for our passion for thoroughbred racing. Our home, the Wingatui Racecourse, has been the hub of the Otago Racing Club since 1899, making us one of the oldest and most respected racing clubs in the region.
At the Otago Racing Club, we proudly host fifteen race days each year, with fourteen of these taking place at our iconic Wingatui course. We are also known for our famous event in Cromwell, Central Otago, held every November. The Melbourne Cup Day races held at Wingatui are a crowd-pleasing favorite among racing enthusiasts.
Our success as a racing venue has contributed to the growth of a thriving thoroughbred breeding and training community around the track, solidifying Wingatui as a top racing destination. Additionally, we are delighted to introduce the Wingatui Function Centre, a versatile and pristine venue perfect for weddings, meetings, and other special occasions. Our team of professionals is dedicated to ensuring the success of your event.
