Welcome to Mornington Playcentre, located at 37 Durham Street in Dunedin, New Zealand. We are an establishment, point of interest, and school that offers a unique early childhood education experience for children and their families.

At Mornington Playcentre, parents and whānau (extended family) are the primary caregivers. Together, we create a village where your entire family can connect and thrive. One of the advantages of parents, whānau, and caregivers attending Playcentre is the high adult to child ratio. This allows us to offer a child-initiated program that is tailored to each individual child's strengths and interests.

As a nationwide charity, Playcentre has over 400 centers across the country. Each center offers a supportive, fun, and friendly environment for you and your child. At Mornington Playcentre, you won't just watch your child grow; you will grow with them.

Watch your child's confidence soar as they explore and foster their imagination through play and interaction with other children aged 0-6. Our sessions offer a wide range of activities, from building sandcastles to baking biscuits, painting to singing, and working with wood to cutting shapes in playdough. Every session will captivate your child and ignite their excitement.

At Mornington Playcentre, we encourage parents to actively participate in their child's learning by playing and learning alongside them. We also invite you to join us for our Messy Play Week, a free event for families with children aged 0-6 years. Explore messy play activities that spark creativity and unlock learning, from paint and playdough to sand and clay, slime, and gloop. It's a fantastic opportunity to have fun with your child without worrying about the mess at home.

Mornington Playcentre welcomes children from age 0-6, and infants are welcome to attend most sessions and participate in regular activities. We also offer specialized sessions that focus on the needs of newborns to 1-year-olds, providing support and friendship for new parents.
