At the Catholic Education Office, we are thrilled to introduce Kōtui, our new and rebranded initiative that aims to ignite a passion for learning. Inspired by the publication Lighting New Fires, which was initiated by Sir Brother Pat Lynch in the 1990s, Kōtui represents our commitment to fostering educational excellence and innovation.

We cordially invite you to take part in our ongoing Te Kupenga & NZCEO 2023 Symposium Series. Whether you are in your office, staffroom, or anywhere with internet access, you can join these symposiums from the comfort of your own space. These symposiums provide a platform for collaboration and knowledge-sharing among educators, enabling us to stay at the forefront of educational practices.

As part of our dedication to supporting the development of Catholic teachers in leadership and the teaching of Religious Education, the NZCEO offers the Scholarship for Leadership in Catholic Education 2023. This scholarship provides significant financial support to deserving individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the field of education.

Additionally, we offer an induction program for Catholic State Integrated School Governance, which helps new board members seamlessly transition into their roles. Our aim is to ensure effective governance that upholds the values and principles of Catholic education, regardless of changes in board membership.

To further assist you in your educational journey, we provide a comprehensive library of online resources. These resources cover a range of faith-based topics and are specifically tailored to the unique context of New Zealand Catholic education.

We also offer a series of videos featuring Kiwi teachers and students, sharing their experiences and insights about teaching and working in Catholic schools. With over fifty New Zealand-specific and Catholic resources, these videos provide valuable perspectives for educators and students alike.

For first-time principals, we offer the First Time Principals' Programme, consisting of online seminars and discussions. This programme aims to develop principals as faith leaders in Catholic schools and complements diocesan first-time principals' programmes. Principals who have recently assumed their roles will be invited to participate.

Mark your calendars for the upcoming Catholic Education Convention in 2024, scheduled from Wednesday 19 June to Friday 21 June. This convention serves as a platform for educators, administrators, and stakeholders to come together and exchange ideas, best practices, and innovations in Catholic education.

Looking ahead, we are excited to celebrate Catholic Schools Day in 2025. This special day allows us to showcase the unique identity and contributions of Catholic schools to our communities. In 2021, the theme of Catholic Schools Day was "Tūrangawaewae: Catholic Schools - A Place to Stand."

At NZCEO, we collaborate with school proprietors and diocesan educational bodies to promote a comprehensive understanding of Catholic education. Our commitment extends to providing support, resources, and guidance to ensure the continuous growth and success of Catholic schools in New Zealand.
