Catholic Social Services Dunedin
About the Business
Welcome to Catholic Social Services Dunedin, located at 42 Macandrew Road in the beautiful city of Dunedin, New Zealand. As an establishment focused on health and well-being, we are a point of interest for individuals seeking integrated services and support to overcome life's obstacles and live their best lives.
At Catholic Social Services Dunedin, we believe that life is meant to be lived to the fullest, but sometimes we encounter challenges that hinder our progress. That's where we come in. Our dedicated team of professionals is here to help you change the narrative and thrive. We provide a range of services designed to empower individuals and families, ensuring they can navigate life's ups and downs with confidence and resilience.
Our clients have shared their positive experiences with us, highlighting the transformative impact our services have had on their lives. One client mentioned, "We can talk about things easier and the arguments don't get as elevated. I have noticed I appreciate my wife's positive qualities more." Another client expressed, "I'm more settled and more decisive. I've started to build confidence but still be humble. I've started to use skills that my social worker helped me with." These testimonials are a testament to the effectiveness of our integrated approach.
We offer various programs and courses to cater to different needs and age groups. "The Younger Years" is a program specifically aimed at babies to younger primary kids, held on Wednesday mornings from 9.30 am to 11.30 am. Additionally, we run a 6-week course for dads, facilitated by dads themselves, on Wednesday evenings from 7 pm to 9 pm. This course provides a supportive environment for fathers to connect, learn, and grow.
One of our flagship programs is Parenting Skills, where we support parents in developing appropriate skills to handle challenging behavior in their children. This program covers essential areas such as communication, problem-solving, stress management, and giving and receiving support. By participating in this course, parents can discover new ways to connect with their children, create a calmer and happier home environment, and tap into their own inner strength during challenging moments.
To ensure accessibility and convenience, we have two locations. In addition to our main center at 42 Macandrew Road, we also have a branch at Alexandra Community House, 14/20 Centennial Ave, Alexandra 9320, serving the Central Otago community.

Reviews
"As chief dishwasher I am pleasantly enjoying my voluntary role under the leadership of Judy, Garth, Brent, Mike, & others. Best of health to Pope francis"
"My whanau was placed under their "care" by the courts because of their mother. Catholic social services has let us down again & again, not being able to properly supervise during supervised visits with their mother, and even as far as one of the counsellers encouraging the teenager to live with her grandfather, the kids lawyer had to get involved with that!! All they want to do is tick their boxes! They have failed us to the point of our family being spilt up"
"Great organization supporting people to live well"
"Very helpful team of social people"
"Friendly people that will help you if you need it. Offer counseling as well."
