"I wasn’t expecting much from a restaurant in a small town but didn’t expect it to leave feeling annoyed. First service wasn’t amazing as they didn’t even set the table for the amount of people we asked for, didn’t give us water till halfway though service, don’t have any drinks menus? And they didn’t give us any of the specials of the night, even though there was 3 specials I wanted to know about. Had to ask eventually. I work in a restaurant at home and is very noticeable of good and bad service and this service was very typical of a small town restaurant. I got the steak MR, and it was probably one of the worst cuts of steak for the price I’ve had. $45 for a steak I expect a great quality, cut and cooked correctly but it was none of those things. There was so much fat in the meat and had to get rid of a lot of it, didn’t leave much steak to eat. It was chewy and definitely had been rested for too long as it was borderline cold and not a single juice was coming out of the steak. Was an extremely overpriced steak. My sister got the chicken ranch salad and found a hair in hers. I didn’t feel comfortable sending meal back as I didn’t feel comfortable with the staff. I ate the meal anyway because I was hungry. Overall not a great experience. Hot chips were nice though :)"
"First time in here for years but what agreat improvement on the food nice young lady behind the bar in the restaurant and a lady doing the cooking, she ovesley loves her hair coloured and she was a great person to talk to and a great chef many thanks"
"Was here on the evening of Monday 22nd May 2023. Just myself as I was staying in town as part of my work. Ordered from here the porterhouse steak with mushroom sauce and later the cheesecake for dessert. The steak was cooked excellently as were eggs, chips etc and a nice mushroom sauce. However my problem for this place is the serving size - it was pretty abysmal. A really nice meal but just sod all of it. The cheesecake dessert was about what one might expect and i did enjoy it, but certainly the main fell way short in respect to the size. And I don't mean you should add just a few more chips either - the steak size is my contention. It is on that basis I'm giving this place 3 stars. On the other side - the place was fresh, clean and pleasant atmosphere. I have rated the staff - two girls 5/5. Pleasant, courteous, professional - they were excellent. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ but it 'could' have been more."
"Ordered the beef nachos. I expect a cheese substitute out of a packet replaced the actual cheese I had hoped for to be covering them tasted like milk was disgusting. Even the bar lady agreed with me yet no refund was offered. Left hungry"
"If you're in Milton I suggest this hidden gem. Staff were amazing and pub grub at pub price. Plus it was delicious."
