"Quite literally a kid in a candy store when I was down in Dunedin and came across this place. Enjoyed my treats so much I ordered an entire box of treats for Christmas for the family after I returned home. Love the nostalgia!"
"My daughter (adult, age of 21) was accused of stealing when in this store, but rather than the decent course of asking for a bag inspection she was man handled by the elderly male owner repeatedly whilst he patted her down and searched her bag - unfortunately she is only a wee thing and the elderly owner felt he could bully her. No apology after his behavior (and the fruitless inspections) which left her very shaken, thankfully there were some other very kind customers to console her after the traumatic experience. I think the proprietor/s should pull pun and retire - behavior acceptable in the 1950svus not acceptable today."
"Absolutely lovely little company, kind, sweet and personal. My partner has purchased many bags of treats from Granny Annie's and Esther always goes out of her way to ensure we are completely satisfied. The candies are extremely good, so good that I have had to be told to not take them to bed with me. Which sucks, because they're great! Very reasonable prices for hard to find treats that are shipped from the other side of the world. Thank you guys so much!"
"I have been to this store multiple times as it has a good range of English food. Now I am disappointed to see that they're prices just keep going up, almost as if they think no one notices. I bought some Cherry Lips for this store not so long ago, I noticed on the back of the packet you could clearly see that a higher priced sticker had been placed over the top. I think that's quite unacceptable for a store to do this in plain few for the customers to see. Multiple times I have been back to purchase something and see the price raised by $2 or even $3+. Being brought up in England I know that the prices that are on the products are absolutely ridiculous. I totally understand you are that you are business owners and need to make a profit, but this is clearly insane. Charging $6.95 for a Pot Noodle that is sold in Tescos for £0.80 (80 UK pence) with the current exchange rate they retail at $1.59, understand shipping cost etc are involved but seriously do the maths doesn't work out. Also noticed that this store is selling expired goods, when asked if you could receive this for a discount price you will get told no, you will also get told that due to shipping or boat supplies that can't guarantee that they will be in date. Fair enough. But this still shows that they clearly do not care and still continue to sell this full price (which has also tripled in the past year). When leaving the store I noticed that the lady working walked over to the items I told her where expired and turned them all facing up right, clearly so when you pick up a packet you wouldn't see the date. Unacceptable. At the counter they have British Cadburys chocolate bars mini (delicious) which clearly state on the wrapper not for individual sale but still continues to charge for them. This is my honest review."
"Great selection of snacks and sweets hard to find these days. As an aniseed fan I was in heaven.Service was quick and pleasant. Thank you for the lovely hand written note in with my goodies! Click the shipping option to get them to calculate the best price. It's worth the wait, and it's easy to confirm the order once you get the email with updated shipping price. Had it in my hands in Auckland 3 days later. Yum!"
