"The loop road to waterfall is closed as its been damaged from the cyclone storm months back. You can still walk to waterfall but be careful. There's also been a slip next to waterfall and opened it up a bit from what it used to be."
"Sadly the road is now closed because the road is washed away! We went on a walk instead. To whomever’s dog joined us- Thank you! She made our day and our walk"
"Lovely spot to stop for a picnic and a quick dip in the river. Off the main road and quiet. Not near any services. Be warned the waterfall is the other side of the river - I don’t think you can access it and the view isn’t great from the other side."
"Beautiful and peaceful. No walking needed, drive to waterfall."
"Pungahuru Falls is easily reachable from the main highway. You will have to travel few Km on gravel road. The gravel road is not that bad. It rained for few days before our visit. the water level that divided us from crossing over to the waterfall was high but the waterfall can be seen from the bank of the river. There was lot of water volume in the waterfalls."
