At Aurora Health Centre, we understand the ongoing presence of infectious illnesses such as Covid-19 and the flu in our community. To ensure the safety of our patients and staff, we have a dedicated Red clinic where we see individuals with any infectious illness. If you are experiencing symptoms such as a sore throat, cough, runny nose, sore ears, temperature, or tummy bug, please inform our reception so that we can book you into the appropriate appointment. Notifying us of your symptoms will help avoid any delays or cancellations.
Important notice: On Monday, May 29th, 2023, Aurora Health Centre will be undergoing an upgrade of our computer system. This may cause some disruptions to our services until 2 pm on that day, and potentially beyond. We kindly ask for your patience when contacting us by phone or visiting our practice, as we adapt to this slightly different way of doing things. Please note that Manage My Health, our patient portal, will be unavailable from lunchtime on Friday, May 26th until Tuesday, May 30th. During this time, patients will be unable to log in to request prescriptions or check new results. However, we will be available in person and on the phones on Monday, May 29th, for any urgent matters. We appreciate your understanding during this period.
Regarding repeat prescription requests, our policy has changed. We now require three working days to process these requests, with a fee of $18. For urgent scripts, please allow 24 hours and a cost of $25 will apply. Early release of certain medications will also incur an $18 script fee. It's important to note that for repeat prescriptions, you must be seen at least once every six months.
To book an appointment or request a repeat prescription through our patient portal, Manage My Health, you must be a registered patient at Aurora Health Centre. While you can currently request a repeat prescription online, we have not yet opened the portal for online appointment bookings. We are working towards making this service available soon. If the person you wish to book an appointment for is not registered with Aurora Health Centre, please contact us by phone to schedule an appointment.
For after-hours care, we recommend Dunedin Urgent Doctors & Accident Centre, located at 18 Filleul Street, Dunedin. They are open from 8 am to 10 pm every day, including holidays. If you require emergency care between 10 pm and 8 am, please visit the Dunedin Hospital emergency department.

"I went it to enroll my family today there but unfortunately they wouldn't accept us which is I'm already enrolled other health care for that reason I can't because they out of capacity but if I don't have any other health care I will be enrolled, I don't know exactly what is going on. But I believe if you are going to enroll there and you are already in health care don't go just to safe time. Also I would like to help your visitors to put outside that you guys are out of capacity"

"Shocking and deplorable, from a stand point of medical experience. They prescribed antibiotics when they at the same time admitted that it was not being prescribed for anything treatable by antibiotics. (The over prescription of antibiotics is a huge problem in modern medicine). And , after leaving our account in a credit of $30, a few weeks later we received an invoice and demands on a so called “late payment” for the same amount. We had to return in person with our receipt/ proof of purchase to avoid them charging our account further. In my experience ANY OTHER general medical practice of professionals is better than this place ! For piece of mind stay well away !"
"This clinic has awesome service. The telephone is answered almost immediately with the friendly and helpful receptionists. The building is not that old and spacious. They can fax the prescription to the chemist of your choice. There are a lot of doctors but I stick to mine as much as possible. They are very efficient and contact the hospital and other healthcare providers on the spot when needed. The nurses as excellent as well. Parking is not a problem and the chemist is just around the corner."
