"Lovely comfortable room in a really nice hotel but the rooms are not sound proof at all & I kept waking up through the night as I could clearly hear people talking. At first (10.30pm) it sounded like it was people in another room or in the hall, then from about midnight thru to 2.30am it sounded like it was two guys in a bar but there wasn’t a bar below or outside & then about 5.00am I could hear a man & woman talking. Worst nights sleep I’ve had for quite a while so I doubt I’ll be back."
"This is our second stay at this iconic and beautiful hotel. We have now stayed in the Jean Batten suite and on our recent visit the Anna Pavlova suite. Both were outstanding in both facilities and decor. The location is second to none, right in the heart of Napier, and when you're on the balcony you look straight out to sea over the stunning Sound Shell square opposite. All the staff were amazing and couldn't be more helpful. This is an absolute must when you visit Napier, you will not regret it!"

After a horrible experience at another hotel, my partner and I were desperate to find a new place to stay, and this hotel came through for us in a big way. The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating, even though we arrived very late at night. The hotel itself was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, making for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Additionally, the location couldn't have been better - there were so many fun and interesting attractions nearby to explore. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay - you won't be disappointed!"

We particularly liked the shared balcony overlooking Marine Parade - gave the place even more of an authentic 30's feel."
