"I had the roast beef. 3 small very thin slices of beef mainly fat. Dumpling and veges ok. Medium size meal for the money. The meal was ho-hum. Service was good and pleasant. Atmosphere was relaxing and comfortable."
"My family have been coming here for over 12 years and have enjoyed meals and service until January 2020. We have decided to take our business elsewhere because we were disappointed with the double standard service from Katrina. We arrived 15 minutes before the opening of the lunch time in January 2020. My mother went to place an order to be told that it was not 11.30 am and to wait til then. Fair enough. Then two other customers turned up and placed an order. She took their orders and did not issue the same directives that she did with my mother. I checked the time we went back to my car and it was 11.18am. This interaction was not okay and disappointing. I didn't query this matter as my mother was upset and did not want to create a fuss. All I can say is that staff need to be consistent with their messages."
"The food was good, menu not flexible to some changes, you won't be able to change you dressing on the salad, the eggs are fried and you can't change for cooked and in the menu is writing that all the plates came with fried and salad but it's wrong. The price is good for some plates, the portions are big. We ordered 1:Roat of the day; 2: sausages, eggs and fries; 3: fish of the day; 4: omelette."
"We had three different meals. My associates were incredibly disappointed with their meals. I will only comment on what I ate. I had the beef burger, the beef patty was devoid of any moisture and lacked any flavor, dressings were from a packet/can/squeeze bottle. Salad wasn't freshly made and side of fries was devoid of any flavor except fat. The issue was raised with the staff and nothing was done. They did mention however they had experienced similar complaints with one of the dishes that we had. I want to say a lot more about this but I feel I will fill out two pages of complaints. Put it this way, the food was barely edible and we left most of it on our plates. When spending $20 to $25 for a main I know in Dunedin there are substantially better places to eat."
"Great place for a quiet dinner, friendly service. Took our sleeping toddler there. Wife ordered the stea,k cooked to perfection. I ordered the lamb shank, fall off the bone tender $20 for one piece or $25 for two!! Gravy and Veggies were really great, portions are filling! Will drop by next time in Dunedin!!"
