Learning Bee Childcare

Welcome to Learning Bee Childcare, a Montessori preschool located at 52 Langdons Road, Christchurch, New Zealand. Our institution is licensed for children aged between 0-6 years and operates four separate classrooms designed to cater to the unique needs of children within this age range. With a maximum capacity of 75 children per day, we offer flexible enrollment options, allowing children to attend anywhere from two to five days per week, either for short or long days.

At Learning Bee Montessori Preschool, we strive to create a special atmosphere of cheerful orderliness, calmness, and purposeful work. Our environment provides children with materials and activities specifically tailored to their intellectual, emotional, physical, and social needs at each stage of development.

We offer an enlightened preschool experience, where children are supported in developing independence and everyday life skills using Montessori-specific equipment, as well as other high-quality early childhood materials and resources. Our program includes a combination of self-directed and group activities, such as music and movement, art and craft, and languages.

The Montessori Framework we follow nurtures the whole child, encouraging them to take ownership of their learning and master skills at their own pace. Our classrooms are flexible enough to accommodate children who prefer quiet tasks, as well as those who enjoy more boisterous activities. Within this framework, we emphasize the teaching of respect, both for classroom materials and for their classmates and teachers.

Our Montessori classrooms are designed to maximize natural light and provide child-height tables, chairs, and shelving, allowing children to freely engage with their environment. We use beautiful, brightly colored learning items made from natural materials, as well as everyday objects, such as oranges for juicing and watering cans for tending to the garden.

At Learning Bee Montessori, we believe that children are building their foundation for life from ages 0 to 6, and they are naturally curious and interested in learning. Our teachers facilitate this process by initially demonstrating activities and then allowing children to explore and work with them in their own unique way.

For children under three years old, we offer two separate safe and enriching environments that focus on their urge towards independence. These environments provide opportunities for exploration, introduction to Montessori materials, and the start of their journey as self-driven, independent learners.

Our Montessori programs cover various areas of education, including practical life skills, sensorial education, language education, cultural education, and mathematics education. Each area is designed to support children's development in specific ways, such as fostering independence, refining the senses, inspiring positive communication, and promoting cultural awareness.

They include a wide variety of specifically designed Montessori educational materials and encourage children to take responsibility for their own education, becoming independent and interdependent individuals.
