Conveniently located within the Barrington Community Health Centre on Athelstan Street, our modern facility features three fully equipped surgeries and ample onsite parking, ensuring a comfortable and stress-free experience for our patients.
At Barrington Dental Centre, we are proud to have a team of highly qualified and experienced dentists who are committed to delivering exceptional care. Elizabeth, our practice owner, has been with us since our establishment in 1991, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and expertise. She is assisted by Jan, who provides valuable support during treatments.
Stephen, another valued member of our team, obtained his dental degree from Otago University in 1987. With extensive experience in general dentistry, Stephen joined Barrington Dental Centre in 2004 and takes pride in building long-lasting relationships with his patients. Sue assists Stephen during his working days.
Pip, a graduate of the Otago University School of Dentistry, has been practicing dentistry in Christchurch since 1999. With a passion for all aspects of dentistry, Pip is dedicated to helping patients overcome their dental anxieties and achieve confident smiles. Ro supports Pip in providing top-notch dental care from Monday to Thursday.
We are also pleased to have Rayann as part of our team. Although currently on maternity leave, Aleisha is working with us during this time, ensuring uninterrupted dental care on Mondays and Fridays.
Our friendly receptionist, Shirley, is here to assist you with any inquiries and appointments, and our team of dedicated dental assistants, including Jan, Sue, and Ro, work closely with our dentists to ensure your comfort and satisfaction throughout your visit.
At Barrington Dental Centre, our mission is to help you restore and maintain optimal oral health. Whether you need preventive care, restorative treatments, or cosmetic procedures, our experienced dentists and hygienists, all New Zealand graduates and members of the New Zealand Dental Association or Hygienist Association, are here to provide you with comprehensive and personalized care.
In case of a dental emergency during the weekend, our weekend emergency care service is available, supported by members of the NZDA Canterbury branch. Simply call 027 683 0679 to reach the dentist on call.

"Worst experience I have had at a dentist. When I called and booked in, I booked in for a check up and to get something fixed. The receptionist confirmed that my appointment was for a check up and resolving my problem, but when I showed up I was told that they could not fix my problem (although it has been fixed by my previous dentist). That would have been okay, but the whole appointment felt very rushed and like they were just trying to get me in and out as soon as possible. The entire appointment lasted 13 minutes and I had to ask if I had any cavities. This is the first time I have not had a dentist talk me through the state of my mouth during the initial appointment. They obviously do not need new patients based on the way they treat them. I tried to think of something positive to rate Barrington Dental on, but I could not and will continue my search for a Christchurch dentist."
