Morrinsville isite Visitor Information Centre
About the Business
Welcome to the Morrinsville i-SITE Visitor Information Centre, located on Thames Street in Morrinsville, New Zealand. Our establishment serves as a point of interest and a travel agency, providing visitors with all the information they need to make the most of their time in our charming town.
When you visit Morrinsville, one of the first things you'll notice is the vibrant and colorful range of cows scattered throughout the town. These unique sculptures can be found on street corners and outside businesses, creating a truly magnificent sight to behold. It's a must-see attraction, and you can pick up a map and details of their locations at our Information Centre.
Our town's major event of the year is the Morrinsville Fireworks Extravaganza, which takes place on the first Saturday in November. This spectacular display is brought to you by our major sponsor, MBS Advisors (Chartered Accountants). The event features a variety of stalls, including fresh fruit and vegetables from Briscoes, plants and trees from Roaches Nursery, and a range of delicious food options. You can also browse through stalls offering great preserves, baking, bacon, woodcrafts, and much more. It's the perfect place to enjoy a Saturday morning brunch and coffee.
For those interested in the history of Morrinsville, we recommend a visit to our new Heritage Centre located on Canada Street, just opposite the Library. Here, you can step back in time and follow the story of our town and community, witnessing how it has developed over the years. One of the highlights of the Heritage Centre is the McDonald Cottage, a beautifully preserved building dating back to 1873. It has been relocated to the new site and is now an integral part of the Heritage Centre. It's a must-see for history enthusiasts.
Art lovers will also be delighted to visit the Wallace Art Gallery on Thames Street. This gallery is a true gem in our district, and we take great pride in showcasing a continuous rotation of art exhibits. Whether you're a local or a visitor, the ever-changing displays are sure to captivate and inspire. It's definitely a must-see attraction.
Our Information Centre is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 4.30pm. During the winter months, on weekends and public holidays, we open on Saturdays from 9.30am to 12.30pm. Please note that we are closed on Sundays.
Additionally, we encourage you to become a member of the Morrinsville Chamber of Commerce (MCC). By joining, you can enjoy the benefits of networking with other local businesses and attending monthly Business after 5 events. It's a great way to connect and grow your business in our thriving community.

"Cathy helped us today. She was lovely, thanks so much for the wonderful customer service Cathy."
"I visited 12 Dec 2022 to do my driving test and there were a few other people also doing driving tests so it was quite busy but the staff were so lovely, greeted everybody who entered and gave a timeframe of when they would be seen to. I wish the ladies could have proper lunch breaks! Special thank you to Siobhan for being a great driving tester, Kelly for the helpful pre-test drive, and the admin ladies (I think their names were Liz and someone else I'm sorry but you were great!). Take your breaks ladies you deserve it!"
"Ronnies cafe wonderful service lounge seats very comfortable on a cool day after leaving the event centre after a fantastic team work win by Tauranga against Rotorua. Getting back to the food at Ronnies we asked to have the chicken wrap toasted on that cold day and discovered how cold it still was however the tea pot for 3 was wonderful and we will visit again."
