Wood Workers Guild
About the Business
Welcome to the Wood Workers Guild, located at 8 Storey Avenue in Hamilton, New Zealand. As an establishment and point of interest, our institution is more than just a school - it's a community of passionate woodworkers who come together to share their skills, knowledge, and love for the craft.
At the Wood Workers Guild, we take pride in preserving the art of woodworking and passing it on to future generations. Our founding members, who are the heart and soul of our organization, have shared their inspiring story with us. Their enthusiasm and passion for woodworking are truly contagious, and you'll find yourself drawn into their world as you explore our institution.
One of the highlights of our guild is the monthly display table, which never fails to surprise and delight. It showcases the incredible talent and creativity of our members, and serves as a reminder that there is always something new to learn from each other. Whether you're a seasoned woodworker or just starting out, the Wood Workers Guild is the perfect place to expand your skills and connect with like-minded individuals.
Our chairman, in his August 2023 ramble, expresses his fascination with the diverse projects undertaken by our members. From intricate woodturning to beautiful carpentry, there is an abundance of skill and knowledge waiting to be discovered within our community. It's this shared passion for woodworking that brings us together and fosters a sense of camaraderie that is truly special.
For over two decades, our permanent home has been the Scout Hall on Storey Avenue, which we purchased for a mere $1000. Although it was in a state of disrepair, our dedicated members led by Alan Hannah, a skilled tradesman, refurbished the hall to create a welcoming space for all. Equipped with a kitchen, toilets, a large hall, and a separate workshop, our building serves as the hub for our meetings, demonstrations, and various woodworking activities.
But our community extends beyond our own guild. The Wood Workers Guild hall is also utilized by many other community groups, further strengthening the bonds we have with our neighbors. We believe in the power of woodworking to bring people together and enrich our community as a whole.
Whether you're looking to refine your woodworking skills, learn something new, or simply connect with fellow woodworkers, the Wood Workers Guild is the perfect place for you. Join us on this fulfilling journey of creativity, craftsmanship, and lifelong friendships.
