When you join us on one of our scenic tours, you'll have the pleasure of cruising with our local skipper and owner, Tony. With his extensive knowledge and passion for the area, Tony will entertain you with fascinating insights into the wildlife, history, and geology of our breathtaking backyard.
Our mission is simple: we want to ensure that all our guests leave the boat with smiles on their faces. That's why we offer a spacious and comfortable nature tour on our boat, Wairiri. From the deck, you'll enjoy unspoiled views of Banks Peninsula's spectacular volcanic coastline and the abundance of wildlife that calls it home.
Our daily trips run from October to April, departing at 1pm (2pm on 7th Feb 24, 11th March 24, and 17th April 24). And to make our tours even more accessible, we have special packages for families. Two adults and one child can join us for just $200, while two adults and two children can enjoy the experience for $220 (children aged 3 to 15 years; under 3 year olds are free).

If you're a fishing enthusiast, look no further than Akaroa Fishing Charters. We specialize in social fishing groups, making it the ideal activity for family gatherings, friends' outings, or team building events. Our half-day and full-day charters offer casual fishing fun for everyone. These private bookings are exclusive to your group, catering to 4 to 10 people (with a maximum of 15).

"The boat was smaller than I thought but the smaller the closer to the wildlife. The skipper Tony, his fellow and a friendly boat dog Scruffy. What a great team! This small-group tour gave us a more comfortable and enjoyable experience. Highly recommended. Tip: You may need to allow enough time to get to Akaroa. Might take time to find parking near the main wharf during the peak season. Better use the public toilet before getting on the boat. Tour duration: about 2.5 hrs."
"We took a trip with Tony in November and it was one of the high points of our 2 week stay in NZ. Highlights: Hector dolphins playing & racing under our boat, fur seals basking on rocks, catching fish, pulling a lobster trap and exploring caves!
