Welcome to Deanwell Playcentre located in Hamilton, New Zealand. We are an establishment, point of interest, and school that offers early childhood education with a difference. As a Playcentre, we believe in the power of parents and whānau (extended family) as the primary caregivers. Together, we build a village where your whole family is connected and supported. Our high adult to child ratio ensures that we can offer a child-initiated program based on each individual child's strengths and interests.

Deanwell Playcentre is part of a nationwide charity with over 400 centres located throughout the country. Each centre provides a supportive and vibrant community for you and your child. Here, you don't just watch your child grow, you grow with them.

From building sandcastles to baking biscuits, painting to singing, working with wood to cutting shapes in playdough, every session at Deanwell Playcentre will captivate and excite your child.

At our Playcentre, we encourage parents to actively participate in their child's learning by playing with them and alongside them. This not only strengthens the parent-child bond but also allows children to interact with others and develop important social skills. Don't be afraid of mess! At Deanwell Playcentre, we embrace messy play activities that spark creativity and unlock learning. Join us for our free Messy Play Week, where you and your child can explore a range of messy play offerings, from paint and playdough to sand and clay, to slime and gloop. It's a fantastic opportunity to have fun with your child without worrying about the mess at home.

We also offer specialized sessions focused on the needs of newborns to 1-year-olds, providing support and friendship for new parents. Our Playcentre is inclusive and welcomes children from age 0-6, ensuring that infants can attend most sessions and participate in regular activities.
