The Salvation Army
About the Business
Welcome to The Salvation Army in Auckland, located at 65 Picton Street. Since 1987, we have been a prominent presence in East Auckland, serving the community with our fully equipped community centre in the heart of Howick. As an establishment, point of interest, and store, we offer a wide range of services and opportunities for individuals and families.
At our East City Corps, we provide a variety of services to the community and host weekly family worship services. Join us every Sunday from 10:00 to 11:30 am for our Family Worship Service, where we also offer Children's Church and Morning Tea. It's a time for spiritual growth and community connection.
For those in need of welfare assistance, our Howick office is here to help. Our dedicated team is available to provide the support and resources you may require.
In addition to our East City Corps, we also have the Auckland Oasis located at 18 Allright Place in Mt Wellington. This center is another hub of support and care, offering various services to the community. You can contact us at (09) 638 0801 or via email at Auckland Oasis.
If you or someone you know is in need of emergency or transitional housing, our Epsom Lodge is here to help. We provide 12 weeks of accommodation for both men and women, along with support and aftercare. Reach out to us at (09) 524 0252 or (09) 524 7379, or send us an email at Epsom Lodge.

Reviews
"Good selection of women's and men's clothing. Toys, puzzles and books for the youngsters and adult fiction and non fiction at great prices. Books are in good condition. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Some furniture, not a lot. Lots of cutlery, crockery, pots and pans. For those going flatting, this is a good place to start!"
"Considering this place runs on donations, it doesn't make sense why they price things so high. I understand their involvement in charity work but these prices still don't make sense. A profit is still made either way.. Items need to be more reasonably priced otherwise low income families are missing out which just takes away from their charity."
"Excellent service. Tidy well laid out shop"
"Generally ok but I think with many stores it’s no longer about charity and giving , with WINZ payments prices are inflated which is very sad ….. we need to realign ;these are families/people that have very little, there is very little to be made from them , we need to be helping them and their children."
"The second hand shops are just not the same anymore. The way they price their items is unfair, I used to enjoy second hand shopping but there is no fun left in the store. It is all about profit before people but then that is the human way. Sad that it has come to this."
