Capizzi Pizzeria
About the Business
Welcome to Capizzi Pizzeria, located in the heart of Rotorua on Tutanekai Street. As an establishment, food, and point of interest, our restaurant is dedicated to providing you with the best pizza experience in New Zealand.
At Capizzi Pizzeria, we believe that the secret to delicious pizza lies in time and quality ingredients. We take pride in our dough, which is cured and proofed for at least 48 hours before being hand-stretched to create the perfect base. Our thin, chewy, and slightly crispy crust sets the foundation for a memorable pizza.
To enhance the flavors, our pizzas are topped with our homemade pizza sauce. Made from roasted tomatoes, garlic, and herbs, our sauce adds a burst of flavor to every bite. We also source our toppings from the best local suppliers, as well as imported Italian cured meats and products, ensuring that every ingredient is of the highest quality.
To cook our pizzas, we use a 100% wood-fired oven, adding manuka wood to infuse the flavors. The pizzas are cooked at temperatures between 350-400 degrees, resulting in a perfectly cooked and flavorful pizza.
When dining at Capizzi Pizzeria, you can expect a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Our fully licensed restaurant offers a little taste of Italy in the heart of Rotorua city. Whether you choose to dine in, order online for pickup, or opt for delivery, we guarantee a memorable pizza experience.
But don't just take our word for it. Our customers have raved about their experiences at Capizzi Pizzeria. One customer described their meal as a "fantastic find," praising the delicious pizza and salads that rival international standards. Another customer was pleasantly surprised by the restaurant's appearance, noting that it may look like a takeaway joint but offers an intimate seating area and hand-made pizzas with a variety of toppings.
We invite you to come and experience Capizzi Pizzeria for yourself. Whether you're a local looking for your new favorite spot or a visitor seeking a taste of Italy in New Zealand, we promise to deliver a pizza experience that will leave you craving for more.

"This was definitely the number one spot as a tourist. The pizza was very well crafted and the gelato felt like a taste from home. The owner was great and very welcoming too. Would recommend!"
"Heard the pizza was good so I tried it out. Definitely didn’t disappoint. Pizza was amazing. Hot and fresh. Great service, and had a great chat with guy serving me and the owner of the dairy a couple doors down. All round great place to visit. Cheers brothers"
"We ordered pizzas and caesar salad and had it delivered to work (local law firm) and it was OUTSTANDING!!!! Everything was delicious, with the perfect amount of toppings etc... Super highly recommend this place to either eat in, or takeaway, or have delivered. Amazing every time!!!! The vegan pizza with grilled eggplant is my personal favourite."
"What a great little restaurant hidden away from the main street. You have to head to the back of the restaurant to really get a feel of the vibe. The men working the restaurant were friendly, welcoming, and checked on us multiple times to make sure everything tasted good. The restaurant really feels authentic and the music and setting were great. We ordered the cheesy garlic bread which was AMAZING and 2 pizzas. The Meat Feast and a build your own. All food was perfect and delicious. The pizzas are pretty big so we took some leftovers home in a box. They had a drink menu with alchocol, wine, soda/coke products, and also bottled water. Tap water is free. Additional notes.. restrooms on site. Accepted credit cards ."
"So happy we stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant during our stay in Rotorua last year. It easily became the dining highlight of our trip and we promised we'd eat in anytime we found ourselves in, or traveling through, Rotorua. The bruschetta could have us coming back on it's own, but the excellent stone/wood fired pizza just seals the deal. The restaurant has a classic small family owned feel and the dine in service just solidifies that. I'm looking forward to our next visit. I'd love see an expanded restaurant menu in the future, some Italian pasta dishes would be *chefs kiss""
