Our firm was founded in 1983 by Alister Argyle, who started as a sole practitioner. In 1992, David Welsh joined the firm, and the partnership was officially established in 1994. In 2002, the late Paul Finnigan became a partner, followed by Paul Gooby in 2015, Jane Argyle-Reed in 2017, and Emma Taylor in 2018. In April 2022, the firm incorporated to become Argyle Welsh Finnigan Limited.

Today, our firm boasts a dedicated team of over 30 staff spread across two offices in Ashburton and Rolleston. Our team members reside in and around Mid Canterbury and Selwyn, allowing them to be an integral part of the thriving community and enjoy the many benefits the districts have to offer.

We are proud to have built a broad base of loyal clients who trust us to assist them, their businesses, and their families. Our team members also serve on the boards of several significant local companies, charities, and community organizations, further showcasing our commitment to the community we serve.

As of April 1, 2022, Argyle Welsh Finnigan is transitioning from a partnership to a company and will now trade as Argyle Welsh Finnigan Limited. Rest assured, all terms of engagement will be honored, and any matters in progress under the Terms of Engagement with Argyle Welsh Finnigan will seamlessly transfer to Argyle Welsh Finnigan Limited.
