Welcome to Lalaga Preschool and Nursery, located at 37 Brougham Street, Christchurch, New Zealand. As a premier establishment and point of interest in the area, we are dedicated to providing a quality Christian early childhood education based on Biblical principles. Our goal is to encourage children to grow up as competent and confident learners and communicators, while nurturing their mind, body, and spirit. We want every child to feel secure in their sense of belonging and understand their valued contribution to society.

Our Nursery program offers a predictable and calm environment while also providing challenges and surprises for toddlers. We understand that young children thrive on exploration and creativity, and we actively encourage their curiosity. Through individual interactions and personalized programs, we can adjust to the unique rhythms of each infant. Our Nursery also boasts its own outdoor space, designed to foster physical activity and a love for the outdoors.

At Lalaga, our Preschool daily program and activities are tailored to the interests of each child. We believe in active learning experiences that challenge and meet the needs of individual children. For our four-year-olds, we provide activities to prepare them for school, including early numeracy and literacy games, movement, rhythm, drama, and opportunities to share knowledge with friends. We want to stimulate their thinking and ignite a lifelong love for learning.

Christian values are at the heart of Lalaga, and your child will be engaged in interactive Bible stories, songs, prayers, and activities. We embrace diversity and value the language, ethnicity, religion, and culture of each child. We actively acknowledge and uphold the partnership inherent in the Treaty of Waitangi. Additionally, Lalaga takes pride in its Christian Samoan heritage, values, and outlook. Children will have the opportunity to learn the Samoan language, engage in cultural stories, and participate in various cultural and language learning opportunities.

Our curriculum is based on TE WHĀRIKI, the National Early Childhood Curriculum. We seamlessly integrate Biblical principles and teachings into our daily program, ensuring a rich and comprehensive curriculum that helps children become competent and confident lifelong learners, reaching their fullest potential.

We are open from Monday to Thursday, from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, and on Fridays from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.
