Kidsfirst Kindergartens Lincoln
About the Business
Welcome to Kidsfirst Kindergartens Lincoln, a vibrant and engaging institution located in Christchurch, New Zealand. Situated at 15 Boundary Road, our kindergarten is nestled between Lincoln Primary and Lincoln High School. Look for the flags and follow the sound of laughter and play as you make your way through the hedge.
Our kindergarten caters to children aged 2 to 5 years, providing them with a safe and nurturing environment to explore, connect, and learn through play. As you walk around, you'll see children immersed in various activities, engaging with their peers and surroundings. Our environment encourages children to make choices that ignite their curiosity and foster their connection with the community.
Inside our kindergarten, children have access to a wide range of resources and equipment, allowing them to engage in imaginative and creative play. There are designated areas for quiet activities, as well as spaces to unleash their creativity. Our beautiful backyard offers a calm yet bustling atmosphere, with grassy areas, trees, gardens, and specially designed equipment to support physical growth and development. Here, children learn to use real tools, such as saws, hammers, and gardening equipment, empowering them to manage risks and make safe choices.
At Kidsfirst Kindergartens Lincoln, we believe in giving children a voice in shaping their own learning experiences. Their thoughts and ideas are valued, creating a sense of belonging where play is seen as meaningful work. As an Enviroschool, we have achieved "beyond Green/Gold status," educating children, parents, and whānau (extended family) about the environment and our responsibilities within it. Our curriculum focuses on building sustainable communities, empowering children as leaders, and embracing Maori perspectives and cultural diversity. Through innovative teaching methods, we instill in our children the importance of sustainability and positive action.
Whānau involvement is highly encouraged and valued at our kindergarten. We welcome visitors to extend the children's interests and learning, and we invite whānau to participate in our "Time to talk" program, where they can share their aspirations for their children's education. Additionally, families are invited to meetings with the Friends of Lincoln Kindergarten (FOLK) Group, where we discuss the teaching and learning that takes place within our program.
Our connections with the local schools are strong, as we regularly visit and support children and families during the transition to school. We also take the tamariki (children) on regular walks to explore the local environment, enriching their experiences beyond the kindergarten gate.
To ensure a smooth transition for your child, we recommend initially enrolling for at least two full days, gradually building up to five days at their own pace. This allows our teachers to get to know your child and provides consistency in supporting their learning.
Nau mai, tauti mai - come in any time! We would love to show you around and make you feel welcome at Kidsfirst Kindergartens Lincoln.
