These figures highlight the urgent need for support and assistance for these vulnerable mothers.
At Bare Necessities, we firmly believe that the well-being of mothers is just as important as that of their babies. That's why we have made it our mission to customize our donations to cater to the specific needs of mothers during pregnancy and postpartum. We collaborate with various organizations, including hospitals, women's refuge centers, emergency housing organizations, social workers, budgeting services, and food banks, to ensure that our donations reach those who need them the most. While we are based in Tāmaki Makaurau, we distribute our donations nationwide, aiming to make a difference in the lives of mothers across the country.
To further support our cause, we offer a tax rebate for every koha (donation) over $5. By emailing us at info@barenecessities.co.nz, you can promptly receive a receipt that allows you to claim back 33% of your donation. We want to ensure transparency and accountability in our operations, which is why all donated funds, whether from individuals or businesses, are solely used to purchase donation items for women in need and cover shipping fees.
In addition to providing material assistance, we also facilitate a second home for preloved maternity and breastfeeding clothes, intimates, and accessories. We encourage our recipients to return reusable items whenever possible, promoting sustainable practices and reducing waste.
