Welcome to Taste of Plenty, the "food tour" specialist division of Mount Classic Tours Ltd. Since 2001, we have been providing unforgettable tours and experiences to thousands of happy customers. Located in Mount Maunganui, on Newton Street, our establishment is a point of interest for all food lovers.

Taste of Plenty was originally started in 2014 by Susana and Karen, two dedicated "foodies". Under new ownership, we continue their legacy with our team of dedicated specialist guides. Our guides not only take you on a culinary journey to taste the produce our region offers, but also introduce you to the people behind the products, allowing you to truly understand their story.

Situated in the Bay of Plenty, our region was aptly named by Captain James Cook in 1769 for its abundance of food supplies and bountiful Maori gardens. Today, the Bay of Plenty, along with all of New Zealand, is known for its food culture that celebrates freshness and flavor.

At Taste of Plenty, our aim is to introduce you to some of our favorite local food heroes. We take you to restaurants, markets, specialty food shops, and hole-in-the-wall production facilities, many of which you would never find on your own. Our tours are designed for small groups, typically ranging from 6 to 14 persons, but we can accommodate larger groups if needed.
