At Best for Pets, we believe that a raw diet is the closest to nature and the cleanest way to feed your carnivore. Unlike processed foods, raw food is non processed and natural, providing not only nourishment but also entertainment and enjoyment for your furry friends. When fed correctly, raw food provides all the vitamins and minerals your pet needs naturally. It is also more bio-available, resulting in smaller and less smelly poops, which is great news for pet owners.

One of the most noticeable differences in a correctly raw fed animal is their shiny coat and overall appearance. Additionally, providing bones or dehydrated chewy treats can help keep their teeth clean and sparkling. Cats and dogs were evolved to eat meat, and their teeth and jaws are designed for this purpose. By providing meat and bones, you are fulfilling their natural needs. Cats, in particular, are not natural water drinkers and concentrate their urine, so a raw diet with around 70% moisture is vital for them. Moreover, as obligate carnivores, cats are not meant to eat a high carbohydrate diet.

At Best for Pets, we operate as closely as possible to the Prey Model Raw diet, which consists of 80% muscle meat, 10% bone, and 10% secreting organ, with 5% of that being liver. We believe this is the optimal way for carnivores to obtain the necessary nutrients from their diet. Each component works together to provide the right minerals, vitamins, and amino acids to support your pet's health.

We strive to make attaining a correctly balanced diet easier for you, but we also encourage you to research raw diets so that you can make informed decisions for your furry family member. In addition to our raw food options, we also offer shipping for all dry treats, products, feeding accessories, and toys. However, please note that our frozen raw food is available for pickup only. We also offer NZ wide 'flat rate' shipping for all items except raw foods, which are perishable.
