"Loved my entire time at this incredible school. I’ve never felt so supported and as a private school especially I feel that SMC is standout in terms of equality and inclusiveness. Thank you SMC"
"Left wing and woke. We expected a traditional conservative Anglican school. What we got is far from the traditional values of the founders. Better than a state school for sure, but not worth the money. Good if your child is very sporty or gifted and likes to say a Maori word in every sentence. If that is not the case - just another girl in a big crowd."
"The facilities available at St Margaret’s are outstanding. From the court to the classroom and even the studio spaces, we love coming into this inspiring environment - Haidee Stratford, Trident Homes Tactix General Manager"
"I was in year 7 in 2002 in Mrs Shirley Smith’s class as a one of very few international student. I only knew few words in English and was not capable of expressing myself back then. Mrs Smith has caused a huge trauma in my early teenage years and that memory has been engraved in my head for a very long time. I had a little incident in class, which I believe, one of the class mate took my chair while I left the class room and when I came back I tried my best to explain myself to her. Mrs Smith scold at me for standing around, thus (being a kid) I poked my tongue out to the classmate. Mrs Smith called me out, saying Im a bad student and brought everything to the surface. She discussed with someone else superior (dont quiet know what happened back then) and decided to tell the whole middle school that Im a troubled kid because my mother passed away a year ago. One of the teacher came to me to ask for a permission but as a kid I was pressured and felt like I had to agree. After the assembly everyone came up to me to ask what happened to my mother, which a 12 year old could not bear. I understand kids being kids, but as I think about it, teachers, adults, grown ups should have considered how much it hurts for a young girl to have her unhealed wound to be dug up again. I have no hard feelings towards the school, other than Mrs Shirley Smith, I had the most amazing teachers ever. I just wanted to get this out of my chest after 20years and hope she hears my story."
"After attending a competing private school, we have seen much improvement in our daughters overall well being, academic success and strong, supportive friendships. The staff have been most supportive and level headed."
