Waikato, Bay of Plenty Cancer Society
About the Business
Welcome to the Waikato, Bay of Plenty Cancer Society, located at 21 Twelfth Avenue in Tauranga, New Zealand. As an establishment and point of interest, we are dedicated to providing support and resources for individuals affected by cancer.
At our institution, we offer information and resources on various types of cancer, including cancers that have spread to the bone(s), brain, liver, and lung(s), as well as cancer of unknown primary origin. We aim to empower individuals and their loved ones with knowledge and support to navigate their cancer journey.
We are grateful for the support we have received thus far and encourage you to continue the story of your loved one by inviting family and friends to support your page. By raising funds, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer.
The Cancer Society of New Zealand has recently welcomed the announcement by the National Party to fund 13 vital cancer treatments if elected. However, we hope that this funding will also extend to the necessary infrastructure to support this move. Our goal is to ensure that no one faces cancer alone and that everyone has access to the treatment and support they need.
One of our key events is Daffodil Day, which will take place on Friday, August 25th. On this day, 8000 volunteers will hit the streets across the country to collect funds in support of the Cancer Society's ongoing work. By contributing to Daffodil Day, you can help us continue providing vital services and support to those affected by cancer.
We are excited to announce that Hei Āhuru Mōwai (Māori Cancer Leadership Aotearoa) and Te Kāhui Matepukupuku o Aotearoa (the Cancer Society of New Zealand) are opening applications for the third annual round of the Māori Cancer Researcher Awards. This initiative aims to support and recognize the important work of Māori researchers in the field of cancer.
We believe in the power of humor and hope in facing cancer, as expressed by one of our supporters who stated, "I believe in a daily dose of humor and hope." We also understand the importance of maintaining one's identity and self-esteem throughout the cancer journey, as another supporter shared, "I'm still me, but I've changed for the better."
If you are interested in getting involved and supporting your Cancer Society, we invite you to find out how you can contribute. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer and ensure that no one faces this journey alone.
