Welcome to Bethlehem Counselling, located in Tauranga, on State Highway 2. Our institution is dedicated to providing high-quality counselling services to individuals and couples seeking support for a range of issues, including depression, anxiety, grief, anger, and relationship difficulties. We also specialize in working with men who are struggling with sexual addiction.

At Bethlehem Counselling, our ultimate goal is to empower individuals to live fulfilling lives, where they are free to pursue their dreams, feel comfortable in their own skin, and approach life with intentionality. Our approach to counselling is rooted in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy, which are complemented by a Client Centred approach. This means that your thoughts, opinions, and values play a fundamental role in shaping the direction of your counselling journey.

Our lead counsellor, Mike, brings a unique perspective to his practice. With a background in the Engineering industry, he offers a practical and logical approach to counselling that many clients find beneficial. Mike is passionate about helping individuals overcome their challenges and has received positive feedback from clients who have found his counselling sessions both helpful and enjoyable.

We believe in creating a safe and inclusive environment for all clients, regardless of their race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. Your confidentiality is of utmost importance to us, and any information you share during counselling will be held in strict confidence, with the exception of situations where personal or public safety is at risk.

Your feedback and input are highly valued throughout the counselling process. If at any point you feel dissatisfied or unhappy with the progress or approach, we encourage you to discuss your concerns with Mike. If necessary, we are more than willing to assist you in finding another therapist who better suits your needs and comfort level.

Bethlehem Counselling is a proud Full member of the NZCCA (New Zealand Christian Counsellors Association) and adheres to their code of ethics, ensuring the highest professional standards.

Sessions at Bethlehem Counselling are typically scheduled for one hour, and the cost per session is $135.00 (including GST) for individuals and $150.00 for couples. However, we understand that cost can be a barrier for some individuals, and we are open to discussing alternative options. Payment can be made via bank transfer or cash, as we do not have EFTPOS facilities available.

We kindly request that you provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel a session. Failure to do so may result in a cancellation fee, although exceptions may be made in exceptional circumstances.
