About the Business
Welcome to Cancer Society's Lions Lodge, located at 32 Tainui Street, Hamilton, New Zealand. Our establishment provides lodging for those affected by cancer, offering a comfortable and supportive environment during their stay.
At Cancer Society's Lions Lodge, we understand the challenges faced by individuals and families dealing with cancer. That is why we are dedicated to providing a place where they can find solace and support. Our institution is not only a lodging facility but also a point of interest for those seeking information and resources about cancer. We provide valuable information on various types of cancer, including those that have spread to other areas such as the bones, brain, liver, and lungs. We also offer insights into cancer of unknown primary, helping individuals understand and navigate through their diagnosis.
We are grateful for the generous support we have received from our community. Your contributions have allowed us to continue our mission of helping those affected by cancer. We encourage you to invite your family and friends to support your page, raising funds that will directly benefit individuals and families impacted by this disease.
The Cancer Society of New Zealand has recently welcomed the announcement by the National Party to fund 13 vital cancer treatments if elected. While we appreciate this commitment, we also hope that the funding extends to infrastructure that supports this initiative. By investing in the necessary infrastructure, we can ensure that individuals have access to the best possible care and support.
One of our significant events is Daffodil Day, which takes place on Friday, August 25th. On this day, 8000 dedicated volunteers will hit the streets across the country, collecting funds to help the Cancer Society continue its vital work. Join us in supporting this cause, as together, we can ensure that no one faces cancer alone.
We are also proud to announce that the Cancer Society of New Zealand is gearing up for its Daffodil Day street appeal. This event allows us to raise awareness and funds, enabling us to provide essential services to those affected by cancer. Your support on this day can make a significant difference in the lives of many.
Research conducted by the University of Otago has shown that many cancer survivors face various psycho-social and physical issues after undergoing treatment. Unfortunately, support for these individuals is limited. At Cancer Society's Lions Lodge, we strive to bridge this gap, offering a supportive environment where survivors can find the help they need to navigate life after cancer.
We are excited to announce that Hei Āhuru Mōwai (Māori Cancer Leadership Aotearoa) and Te Kāhui Matepukupuku o Aotearoa (the Cancer Society of New Zealand) are opening applications for the third annual round of the Māori Cancer Researcher Awards. This initiative aims to support and encourage Māori researchers in the field of cancer, promoting advancements in understanding and treatment.
At Cancer Society's Lions Lodge, we believe in the power of humor and hope. We strive to provide a daily dose of positivity and inspiration to those who stay with us. We are dedicated to changing the world, one head of hair at a time, as we understand the impact that cancer has on one's identity. Through our support and services, we help individuals embrace their changed selves for the better.
