About the Business
Welcome to House of Wonder Chartwell, located at 41 Rutherford Street in Hamilton, New Zealand. As an establishment, point of interest, and school, we prioritize the uniqueness and individuality of each child, recognizing them as special taonga (treasures). We understand that selecting the right center for your child's education and care is a significant decision, and we would be thrilled to be a part of your child's learning journey. Feel free to contact us or visit us anytime.
Imagine a place where your little one can explore, create, and learn through play and collaboration. At our Reggio Emilia-inspired center, our Kaiako (teachers) act as facilitators, guiding children's learning and supporting their interests and ideas. Our environment is designed to be sensory-rich, with natural materials and open-ended resources. We believe that every child is unique and capable of learning in their own way. Join us in the fun and witness your child grow into a confident and curious learner.
We understand the importance of connecting with nature, and we regularly take our tamariki (children) on bush walks to explore and discover the natural world around us. Our tamariki also enjoy visits to the local library to support their early literacy development. We strongly believe in building strong relationships with tamariki and their whānau (families), fostering open communication, and working together to support each child's growth and development.
To ensure the well-being of our children, our in-house cook provides freshly made meals each day based on the New Zealand Heart Foundation Tohu Manawa Ora | Healthy Heart Award for Early Learning Centres. We believe that nourishing food fuels children to thrive both physically and mentally, while also enjoying the benefits of coming together and connecting as a group during mealtimes. Our teachers also engage the children in regular baking activities, providing them with opportunities to develop food preparation skills, fine motor movements, and mathematical concepts.
At House of Wonder Chartwell, we cater to different age groups. In our Kaakano program for 0-2 years old, we prioritize your baby's well-being and create a sense of home within our center. We communicate with you every step of the way, ensuring a safe, secure, and encouraging environment for your baby's growth and development.
Our Kakau program for 2-3.5 years old focuses on the significant changes that occur during this stage, such as increased independence and curiosity. Our kaiako welcome each toddler with open arms and patience, providing an environment for them to explore and learn at their own pace. We have additional rooms dedicated to water play and art, designed specifically to encourage curiosity and exploration.
For our Puaawai program, catering to 3.5-6 years old, we understand the critical role of the pre-school and kindergarten years in preparing your child for school and life. We expose children to abundant learning opportunities involving nature, literacy, numeracy, emotional development, confidence-building, social engagement, and more! We have established a strong connection with our local school, supporting our tamariki with school readiness and learning experiences.
The first five years of a child's life are incredibly significant and influential, shaping their future. At House of Wonder Chartwell, we recognize the importance of this period and aim to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for your child's growth and development. We believe that together, we can lay a strong foundation for their future success.
Outdoor play is a crucial part of a child's development and education. It encourages physical activity, enhances gross motor skills, and fosters a connection with nature. At House of Wonder Chartwell, we prioritize outdoor play and provide ample opportunities for children to explore and engage with the natural world around them.
Join us at House of Wonder Chartwell and let your child embark on a journey of wonder, growth, and learning. We are dedicated to providing a supportive and enriching environment where your child can thrive. Contact us or visit our center to learn more about how we can be a part of your child's educational journey.
