This alarming gap in knowledge is what prompted the creation of Child Matters in 1994.

Child Matters is a registered Charitable Trust and a Private Training Establishment. Our mission is to upskill individuals who work and interact with children and young people, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and confidence to identify and address risks of vulnerability and abuse. We work with professionals, community organizations, families, and whānau to provide training, advice on policy and procedures, and recommended resources on child protection issues.
