About the Business
Welcome to Wellbeing Psychology, a professional and inclusive establishment located in Hamilton, New Zealand. Our institution is dedicated to providing a diverse range of interventions to individuals, couples, families, and children, with the goal of enhancing their lives through a solution-focused approach to change.
At Wellbeing Psychology, we strive to create a supportive clinical practice that helps people improve their lives by working with their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors as resources to overcome life's challenges. Our team of experienced professionals offers guidance, hope, and practical resources to clients during challenging times, helping them find a sense of purpose and healing for themselves and those around them.
Dr. Chaykham Smith, our Clinical Psychologist, brings over 19 years of experience in the field. She specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Clinical Research, and Psychological Assessment. With a Doctorate in Philosophy (Ph.D.) majoring in Psychology from The University of Auckland and Clinical Psychology Training from the University of Waikato, Dr. Smith has extensive experience working with individuals of all ages and cultural backgrounds in various settings.
Elize, another valuable member of our team, has been a Clinical Psychologist since 2010. With a PhD in Clinical Psychology and a deep interest in traumatic loss, bereavement, and the process of individuation, Elize is passionate about building therapeutic relationships based on a non-judgmental humanitarian stance. She applies a biopsychosocial spiritual model combined with an eclectic therapeutic approach to adapt to each client's unique needs.
Our dedicated administrative support, Jo, ensures the smooth running of Wellbeing Psychology Limited and assists with the operation of Orange Tree Grove. With outstanding organizational skills and a commitment to providing excellent service, Jo plays a crucial role in supporting our team.
Dr. Smith's expertise lies in anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, and burnout. She tailors her therapeutic approach to each client's presentation and needs, utilizing cognitive behavior therapy, compassion-focused therapy, and solution-focused therapy as key approaches in her work.
Elize, on the other hand, combines a developmental psychology approach with symptom management techniques to facilitate immediate and long-term change. She has a special interest in identifying behavior patterns across generations and implementing epigenetic resilience. Elize believes that trauma and challenges can serve as opportunities for growth and new insights.
