Welcome to Student Village, located at Knighton Road in Hamilton, New Zealand. As an establishment and point of interest, we are proud to offer a university experience like no other.

Applications for 2024 are now open, and we encourage you to apply by September 30, 2023, to ensure you are considered for your preferred hall. Our Hamilton campus provides a range of accommodation options to suit all students and lifestyles. Whether you prefer the full support of our halls of residence or the independent lifestyle offered by Silverdale apartments and Orchard Park, you will find a room that meets your needs.

At Student Village, we understand the importance of catering to different dietary requirements. That's why we offer a wide range of options, including vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free, and Halal. However, please note that self-catered accommodation is not typically offered to school leavers. Individual applications may be considered for students with severe dietary, disability, or medical needs, subject to availability and supporting evidence.

Laundry facilities, including washing machines, dryers, and irons, are available at each hall on campus and are included in the weekly cost. Additionally, paid parking applies to all cars parked on campus, including students living in the Halls. Limited reserved parking is available, and you can apply for it in January 2024, or alternatively, purchase a License to Hunt permit via the 'PayMyPark' app.

Applying for accommodation at Student Village is easy and can be done online. You do not need to have been accepted into your study program to apply. If you are a school leaver starting your tertiary studies in 2024, we require a Common Confidential Reference Form (CCRF) from your school, completed by a teacher, careers advisor, or principal. For other New Zealand students who left school prior to 2022, a character reference from an employer, tutor, community leader, minister, or sports coach is required. International students who attended a New Zealand school in 2022 or 2023 also need to supply a CCRF.

To secure a room for 2024, we recommend applying early. If your application and reference are received by October 1, 2023, you will be considered for a place in our first round of offers. However, please note that due to high demand, we may not be able to guarantee your preferred hall, and you may be offered an alternative.

We also offer scholarships that can help cover your accommodation costs. If you are a new student at the University of Waikato, please visit our website to see if you are eligible and to find more information on each scholarship.

To suit our students' needs, we have different payment plans and accommodation options available to fit any budget. We also prioritize the safety of everyone living on campus and have established rules and regulations. Before accepting an offer, we encourage you to review the information regarding your contract, deposit, rules, and regulations.

When accepting your contract to reside on campus, you are agreeing to abide by the rules and regulations and pay five weeks' rent in advance, along with any optional extras, by January 2024.
