Welcome to BestStart Dey Street in Hamilton, New Zealand! Our dedicated teachers understand what it takes to support tamariki as they grow. Building relationships is our top priority, both with you as parents and with your child. As you step into our nursery, you will be greeted by warm and responsive Kaiako (teachers) who provide calm and consistent routines throughout the day. This enables our pepe (babies) to engage with the world around them and develop a sense of trust and belonging.

In our toddler room, you'll find a vibrant and fun environment with plenty of space for our tamariki to explore and develop their independence and social skills. Our routines here are consistent and reassuring, and we start to give our tamariki opportunities to take responsibility for themselves.

When our preschoolers work in small groups, they learn to play together, take turns, and solve problems. Whether they're playing a game, creating artwork, or planning a project, you can be confident that your preschooler is learning how to work cooperatively, make new friends, manage their emotions, and persevere through challenges. We also focus on preparing our tamariki for the next step in their learning journey - school!

While care, learning, and development are evident in every aspect of our program, the element that sets us apart is love. Love is at the core of everything we do, and we have seen it expressed to our tamariki from all their teachers. The genuine aunt/niece type relationships formed between teachers and children have meant the world to us as parents, especially since our family is not in New Zealand.

From day one, we strive to create a welcoming environment where every child feels comfortable and included. Our structured approach caters to all learning stages and the individual needs of each child. We come highly recommended by parents who have seen their child's speech improve and witnessed the dedicated involvement of our staff in their child's development.
