Welcome to Kidsfirst Kindergartens King Street, located in the beautiful town of Rangiora, New Zealand. Situated on King Street, our newly-renovated kindergarten is conveniently nestled between two primary schools and is close to all local amenities. We are proud of our kindergarten and the community we live in.
At Kidsfirst Kindergartens King Street, we value and treasure our environment. We take great care and respect for Papatuānūku (Mother Earth), which sends a message to the children that our kindergarten is a special place where their work is valued. Our kindergarten is open, warm, and filled with natural light. It provides spaces for quiet, creative, and imaginative play.
Outside, our playground is surrounded by established trees and gardens. It features a mud kitchen, sandpit, and specially designed equipment to support children's exploration, physical growth, and development. We believe in providing a balance of predictable routines and free play experiences for children aged 2 to 5 years. Our programme is based on the New Zealand early childhood curriculum, "Te Whāriki," which lays a strong foundation for later success.
Our teachers plan the programme and focus areas around the children and their families' aspirations for them. We encourage our tamariki (children) to contribute to the planning process, giving them a sense of ownership and a voice. We also value whānau (family) involvement and welcome visitors to the kindergarten to extend the children's interests and learning. Our active parent group organizes kindergarten family events, providing a great opportunity to meet other parents and whānau.
We recommend enrolling initially for at least two full days, gradually building up to five days at your child's pace. This allows our teachers to get to know your child, build a relationship, and provide consistency in supporting their learning.
