Fife Lane Kitchen & Bar
About the Business
Welcome to Fife Lane Kitchen & Bar, a contemporary dining establishment located at 512 Maunganui Road in Tauranga, New Zealand. Established in November 2019, our goal is to provide an authentic dining experience in a sophisticated and welcoming atmosphere.
As you step into Fife Lane, you will be greeted by a warm and inviting industrial-chic setting. The space is beautifully lit, showcasing natural wood and brick textures, creating an intimate ambiance for you to enjoy.
One of our unique features is the bespoke glass meat locker, where you can admire an array of aged meats, paying homage to traditional butcher shops of yesteryear. Additionally, we take pride in our dedicated wine room, carefully curating a selection of vintage wines for you to choose from.
We are fortunate to have a rare Mibrasa oven, a closed charcoal grill originally crafted in Spain. By using this method of cooking, we are able to impart a distinctive charcoal aroma and flavor to our dishes, enhancing the overall depth and richness of our menu.
At Fife Lane, we prioritize freshness, sustainability, and locality. We carefully select our suppliers and growers based on these values, creating a community of like-minded individuals dedicated to delivering the very best in seasonal produce. Our commitment to quality is evident in the grass-fed, cage-free, and open paddock farming practices we support.
When it comes to seafood, we partner with East Rock, a family with four generations of experience fishing the East Coast. Their small inshore boats ensure that the fish is harvested on short trips, guaranteeing the freshest seafood delivered directly to our kitchen.
For those seeking the finest cuts of beef, we proudly offer Greenstone Creek. This premium grass-fed New Zealand beef is hand-selected and aged for exceptional tenderness and taste.
At Fife Lane, we believe in bringing the best quality produce from the farm to your table. Each supplier we work with is carefully chosen for their dedication to their craft and the produce they supply. Together, we create a community of like-minded people who support our commitment to quality and the very best of seasonal produce.

Reviews
"Beautiful setting and very attentive staff. My mussels were fabulous but my daughter's octopus a bit chewy. Daughter loved the horseradish with her wagu. My beef Wellington had a bit much mustard. Great wine selection."
"A top class dinner experience. It totally emptied our pockets, but we left contented with full bellies. The waiting staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and were good to recommend options for Coeliacs. The steaks were delicious and cooked to perfection."
"Amazing dating place from our own experience! It's perfectly located right next to the bus stop and New World in the Mount. Very spacious inside and love its design and decoration, especially the fireplace. Amazing vibe for dating or friends gathering. What's more amazing is the food, especially the beef wellington which blew my partner's mind, the snapper is also very decent. Reasonable price, I mean the food and its portion is definitely worth that price. And yes the service is also impeccable, they all wear a smile and are very friendly. Can't complain at all. We have been to almost all the high-class restaurants in Tauranga and the Mount, this one is probably so far our favourite."
"If you like a classy place with good wine, this may be suited to you. The service is good but could have been a little more welcoming with more smiles. The steaks looked well cooked and the meat was pinkish with their borders cooked. Some were better and tastier than others. We were disappointed that the Wagyu was a little dry and tougher to chew than the others. However, the onion rings is a must try. For desert, the crust on top of the creme brulee was too thick and made it hard to bite into. Not a desert you would order again. Not the most value for money if you want to have a great steak meal."
