Countdown New Brighton

"One star is one too many. Appalling customer service at the checkouts with large queues and very poorly trained check out staff. Ergonomic handling and a sense of urgency has not been taught to the staff with each item picked up twice, scanned once, then 3 steps to the bag which is not hung in its holder by the till but far away, then 3 steps back to handle the next item twice before scanning. All done at a pedestrian pace. Come on Countdown. Train your staff instead of leaving them to take the heat from angry customers."

"Countdown in New Brighton have a great selection while shopping and at a reasonable value being a local helps as it is very close if need a few shopping items friendly staff and plenty of places to park Thank you :-)"

"Small, which is nice, however minimal selection and very overpriced. Often lines take a while to get through checkout. Have stopped going unless I need one of two things as Pak n Save Wainoni is much cheaper."

"I felt so sad for the staff there as we all witnessed a lady shoplift and walk through the checkouts as if nothing is wrong with a duffle bag full of groceries no hesitation towards staff and walked out. It's crazy to think there's nothing you can do to stop them unless you put yourself at risk or assault charges, what can be done about it?"

"This has been a local for years and as it is the only supermarket in the area its dissopointing. Lately I've noticed the price hikes are huge! The shelves are quite bare and the selection limited. Staff are nice and helpfull but I prefer to travel further away for a better selection. Such a shame."
