Nestled on 6 acres of land with its own private beach, Sanctuary offers a truly unique experience for guests.

Situated in the exclusive suburb of Church Bay, only a five-minute drive from Oneroa Village, this beautifully designed villa is perfect for extended families or groups. With a spacious floor plan of 230 square meters, this home combines space, style, and an unbeatable location, ensuring that guests have an unforgettable experience in New Zealand's award-winning island wonderland. Mudbrick and Cable Bay, two of the island's most popular vineyards, are just minutes away on the same road.

This one-of-a-kind property is filled with beautiful original fittings from old properties across New Zealand, blending the charm of yesteryear with modern amenities such as Bose sound systems, a stunning 900mm oven with an induction cooktop, and flat-screen televisions. The kitchen, large enough to comfortably accommodate four people, opens onto a stunning outdoor dining area with an electric louver system, offering expansive views of Huruhi Bay. In winter, guests can enjoy the warmth from the old wood burner stoves in the kitchen and living room, which spreads upstairs to the bedrooms.

The villa's four bedrooms, all located on the top floor, open onto a verandah with more breathtaking views. Featuring high ceilings adorned with stunning ceiling roses and original art deco light fittings, the generous bedrooms provide a tranquil retreat. The master bedroom, filled with natural light and boasting glorious views, may tempt guests to never leave its embrace.

Outside, beautiful gardens surround the property, and a large grass area provides a perfect space for children to play. A track leads directly to the beach below, and guests can explore numerous walking options, ranging from short 15-minute strolls to all-day hikes. Once you experience the beauty of Sanctuary, you'll want to return year after year.

Please note that access to the property includes a dirt road, which can be steep in parts. During wet weather, a 4WD vehicle is required, and we highly recommend it for general use. If you prefer not to hire a car, Island Taxis can provide a 4WD taxi. Please be aware that non-4WD people mover vans are not recommended due to their light rear end.

For your convenience, all linen and towels are provided, although we kindly ask that you bring your own beach towels. Additionally, there is an exit cleaning fee applicable to each stay. Minimum stay requirements include a late check-out of 12:00 pm, seven nights between mid-December and mid-January, two nights during other times, and three nights for public holiday weekends.

To ensure the safety of our guests, a security deposit of $500 will be preauthorized to your credit card two days before departure. This deposit will be released five days after departure. Please note that a 3.5% credit card surcharge applies to all card payments.

Please be aware that Sanctuary is available for small conference groups during the Off Peak and Shoulder Seasons on weekdays only. However, it is not available for weddings or parties.
