KiNZ Otara Early Learning Centre

Welcome to KiNZ Otara Early Learning Centre, located at 69 Otara Road, Auckland, New Zealand. We are an exceptional educational institution and childcare center catering to children aged 2-6 years old. Conveniently situated near the Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT) in Otara, we offer flexible hours from 8am to 4pm to accommodate the needs of busy families and those with school-aged children.

At KiNZ Otara, we prioritize building strong connections with our tamariki (children), parents, and whānau (extended family). Many of our whānau have been part of our center for several years, enrolling siblings and cousins. In fact, some of our parents and whānau were once enrolled at the center themselves when it was known as Clydemore Kindergarten. Our team takes great pleasure in nurturing and enhancing these relationships over time.

Our committed teaching team is one of our greatest strengths. Many of our kaiako (teachers) have been with KiNZ Otara for up to 15 years, ensuring consistency in care and learning support. This dedication is highly valued by both parents and whānau.

We believe in the power of community learning, which is why we have established strong connections with local organizations such as Ōtara Health and Ōtara Library. We are particularly proud to be involved in the Pūoro Pīrere Programme with Sistema Aotearoa, where our tamariki have the opportunity to learn orchestral music alongside talented musicians who play the violin and other instruments.

At KiNZ Otara, we prioritize the health and wellbeing of our tamariki. We arrange for the dental van to visit the center several times a year to provide dental check-ups and minor treatments. Additionally, we hold monthly Plunket Clinics on-site for the B4 School Checks. Our center has been awarded the Pā-Harakeke (Gold) Level of the Healthy Heart Award for our commitment to promoting healthy eating and physical activity. We provide nutritious meals and snacks daily, including morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea.

Our large outdoor space offers ample opportunities for tamariki to engage in physical activities such as running, climbing, swinging, skipping, and riding child-sized bikes. We believe that movement supports brain development, and we have incorporated the Moving to Learn Programme into our daily activities.

As a specialist care center, our kaiako are skilled in implementing the Incredible Years Programme, which supports young children in their social, emotional, and academic competence. All of our qualified kaiako have completed the Incredible Years training.

Our teachers prioritize building strong relationships with whānau and parents, understanding the children's home contexts and issues, and offering support when needed. This approach promotes good attendance and ensures a supportive learning environment.
