"Years ago I needed to buy a replacement lower control arm with wheel hub. I got this from them, fitted it to my car with no issues, went to put the wheel on and discovered one of the wheel studs was damaged. Not stripped, but more like something heavy dropped on it, destroying the threads. I drove back to Nisbits on 3 nuts and spoke to a guy at the front counter and after I said the part was like that when I bought it he said a flat "No it wasn't." Imagine you're talking to a kid telling you an obvious lie and you're in no mood for it, that's how he replied to me. It threw me for a loop to be honest, because normally you wouldn't expect someone to go straight to complete denial, you'd assume someone would at least say something like "Are you sure you didn't accidentally strip the thread" or something like that. So I tried to explain that no, it came like that, that I'd managed to bolt everything up without issue and it was just the wheel stud that was damaged and he completely denied it and said they check their parts for damage and he knows it wasn't damaged when it was sold to me. I asked him to come outside and look at it, because you could tell by the damage and it'd had something heavy dropped on it, but he refused. He told me to go down the road to a garage for a quote on replacing the stud and walked away. He didn't explain but I assumed he gave in and was telling me to get a quote and they'd fix it. Really all I needed was some advice on how to press the stud out and replace it. So I went to the garage, got the quote, came back and told them and he said they're not paying for anything and to leave. I said I just needed help with the stud, he walked away to the back and came back with a rusty, nasty looking wheel hub, dropped it on the desk and walked away. I gave up and left. Luckily I was able to find out how to press out the wheel nut while it's on a vehicle by using a hammer and using washers to press the replacement back on. This guy though, after all these years I still remember how rude he was."
"Needed a Murano door handle urgently at 12.30pm on a Saturday. David was the absolute man. He not only agreed to do it there and then, but also place it somewhere so I could race down from the other end of the city to collect it. If I’m passing, there’s a box of beers in it. These guys are absolutely worth their weight in gold!"
