"We put a deposit down of $1700 on outdoor furniture and then followed it up with another installment $1500 deposit. Our circumstances unfortunately changed. Design Warehouse informs us that they will not refund the payments but only issue a credit note for both installments. Keeping someones installment payments for cash flow seems really unreasonable customer service. Will update with status - but you need to be careful with these sorts of actions seems quite unreasonable checking with Citizens Advice, Fair Trading Act to see if this is lawful. Filed against Design Warehouse with Claims Tribunal to seek a ruling. Tribunal result - As the law currently stands there is no compulsion for Design Warehouse to refund any deposit you pay. Even further discretionary payments so you need to be very careful with your money and this company."
"This is our second Outdoor umbrella From them. The first one got destroyed in the recent cyclone. Great place to shop physically and online."
"My wife has recently undergone back fusion surgery and she requires more comfortable seating to help her overcome the severe pain. Thinking my wife was happy with the seat she was trying I purchased (still to be collected) later to find out she said no it was not comfortable ! I therefore went back to store within 20 minutes of purchase and after explaining situation the manager refused to give a refund as we had changed our mind and offered a credit note as a favour. A bit of kindness in today's world goes a long way but just following the letter of the law with no sympathy shows how some retailers have no care for their customers ."
"Appalling service! We knew the product we wanted, located it quickly on the floor and then looked for an assistant. Went through to other room and 4 staff were standing around talking. After waiting a while one guy asked if we needed help. He turned out to be a storeman so no good. The other assistant on the computer muttered something about computer problems and stayed where he was. The storeman went out to the first warehouse and located a woman at a desk. He went and spoke to her, they chattered and laughed amongst themselves for a while, she finished her coffee and eventually came over. We ended up buying the product as it was exactly what we wanted, but felt like walking out. This company spends a fortune on advertising, has great products, but what’s the point when the level of service is so bad you never want to come back??"
"Great customer service and product. The whole experience of buying an outdoor table from DW has been seamless. Retail staff were approachable and knowledgeable. They gave great advice and insight which helped us decide on the best table for us. Delivery was easy to arrange and when the movers arrived they were phenomenal. We have had a lot of furniture delivered to our new home recently and many movers have found the access via two flights of stairs seemingly inconvenient. Contrary, the friendly DW movers were polite and professional with great communication. They took particular care not to damage anything on route and happily removed then reinstalled the legs to make it work. Really appreciated it."
