Welcome to Kauri Kids Glenfield, a premier early childhood education centre located in Auckland, New Zealand. At Kauri Kids, we are dedicated to providing exceptional care and education for tamariki (children) from infancy until they are ready to embark on their primary school journey.

Inspired by the mighty kauri tree, we believe that with the right support, all tamariki can thrive and make a positive impact on the world around them.

At Kauri Kids, we instill a deep sense of environmental responsibility in our tamariki. We empower them to become kaitiaki (custodians) of the Earth, teaching them to use resources wisely and actively participate in the fight against climate change. Through hands-on experiences and play-based learning, we encourage children to explore and care for the environment, fostering a deep connection with nature.

Our approach to learning is centered around free play and self-directed exploration. When you step into our spaces, you won't find many traditional toys or structured activities. Instead, we provide real-life objects and natural play materials, allowing children to follow their interests and develop their imaginations. We believe that by giving children the freedom to choose, they become active participants in their own learning journey.

Physical activity is a vital part of a child's development, and we prioritize movement and play at our centres. Children are encouraged to move freely and engage in activities such as climbing, balancing, kicking, throwing, and jumping. Through these experiences, they develop essential motor skills and a lifelong love for being active.

At Kauri Kids Glenfield, we celebrate the uniqueness of each child and foster a sense of belonging. Our kaiako (teachers) recognize and respond to tamariki as individuals, valuing their self-esteem and encouraging positive relationships between older and younger children. We also prioritize social-emotional development, teaching children resilience, risk-taking, and emotional expression.

Our curriculum equips tamariki with essential skills such as problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and cross-cultural awareness.
