Located at Lower Hutt on Muritai Road, our institution is dedicated to providing the best healthcare and advice to our community. At The Doctors Muritai, we offer a comprehensive range of services provided by our team of experienced doctors and registered nurses. However, please note that our enrolments are currently closed due to limited staff capacity. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and will reopen enrolments as soon as possible.

In need of virtual after-hours care? We have partnered with Practice Plus to offer same-day virtual after-hours GP appointments tailored to your needs.

Amidst the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, we provide various services related to testing, managing positive results, vaccinations, and consultations. Many of our consultations are conducted virtually via phone or video, with some in-person options available. When visiting our practice, please remember to wear a mask at all times and inform us if you have any Covid-19 symptoms.

Booking appointments at The Doctors Muritai is secure, confidential, fast, and easy. You can schedule your flu vaccination through our patient portal, using the online form, or by contacting us directly.

For medical attention outside our operating hours, please contact Lower Hutt After Hours Medical Centre at 04 567 5345 or visit their location at 729 High Street, Lower Hutt. They operate from Monday to Friday, 5:30 pm to 10 pm, and on weekends and public holidays from 8 am to 10 pm. Alternatively, you can book a video consultation through Practice Plus, available weekdays from 5 pm to 10 pm and on weekends and public holidays from 8 am to 8 pm.

Please note that prices mentioned on our website are for consultations with a doctor. For face-to-face consultations with a nurse or doctor, payment is requested on the day. Phone consultations will be invoiced via text or email.

Healthcare in New Zealand consists of a combination of free services and subsidised services, where patients may be required to pay a fee to cover certain costs. We always strive to ensure that our patients benefit from funded services they are eligible for. However, it is important to note that free and subsidised care is only available to New Zealand residents, with exceptions for visitors from countries like the UK and New Zealand, thanks to reciprocal agreements.

To support the smooth running of our institution, we have implemented an administration fee of $10 for accounts not paid on the day. However, this fee will be waived if the account is settled within 5 days of the invoice date. Long-term overdue accounts may be referred to a debt collection agency, incurring additional fees.

We kindly request a 2.7% credit card/PayWave surcharge to cover rising costs. To avoid this fee, we recommend using a debit or EFTPOS card.

Whether you're enrolled with us or not, we welcome flu vaccine bookings at all our medical centers. If you are registered for our patient portal, booking a flu vaccine is quick and easy. If you are not registered or not enrolled with us, you can still use our online booking form to schedule your flu vaccination.
