Welcome to Cabello Hair, formerly known as Haylo Hair, located in the beautiful suburb of Miramar in Wellington, New Zealand. Established in 2004 by owner Renee Heatherwick, Cabello Hair was born out of a desire to provide a local, boutique hair salon that offers highly qualified staff and affordable prices, eliminating the need for clients to travel to the city and pay exorbitant prices and parking fees.

At Cabello Hair, all of our staff members are nationally qualified, and we require our trainees to be in some form of formal training. Renee, our Owner and Creative Director, is also internationally qualified, holding her IPSN certificate. We take great pride in ensuring that our clients are looked after by only the most qualified hairdressers and we place a strong emphasis on providing quality experiences.

To stay current and motivated, all of our hairdressers undergo annual training and professional development. We strive to be leaders in the industry and consistently offer exceptional quality, workmanship, and service. Our commitment to our clients is evident in our high client retention rate and the continuous feedback we receive through surveys and mystery shoppers.

We are open Monday to Friday, with three late nights and every third Saturday to accommodate all of our clients' needs. In addition to being the Managing Director of Cabello, Renee Heatherwick is an award-winning advanced stylist and creative director with over 25 years of experience in the hair and beauty industries. She gained her national qualification in Palmerston North and furthered her training in London with renowned names such as Tony & Guy and Vidal Sassoon. Renee's passion for her craft has led her to compete in various competitions, where she has achieved notable successes.

Renee specializes in both cutting and coloring and believes that these specialties go hand in hand, complementing each other perfectly. She is committed to continuous upskilling to ensure she remains at the top of her profession.
