Welcome to Dare to be Dyslexic, located at 14 Matuku Street, Upper Hutt, New Zealand. We are an establishment and point of interest that specializes in providing educational support for children with dyslexia.

At Dare to be Dyslexic, our dedicated literacy educational tutor, Kate Hey, offers personalized programmes tailored to meet the unique needs and strengths of each child. Whether through one-on-one sessions, buddy sessions, or small group sessions, Kate works closely with your child to create a comprehensive and individualized programme that is right for them.

We believe that every child's brain is capable of incredible things, and our approach focuses on identifying and nurturing their strengths. Through specific strategies, we aim to foster independence and literacy success in every child we work with.

In addition, we offer screen tests using a range of assessments to identify any dyslexia traits in children aged 8 and over. We are proud to offer the renowned GL Assessment screening test for Preschool and Primary levels, ensuring accurate and reliable results.

At Dare to be Dyslexic, we understand the importance of play in learning. That's why we incorporate LEGO® play in a safe environment, which promotes positive communication skills, social interaction, turn-taking, sharing, cooperative problem-solving, and the development of critical motor skills. Our sessions are not only educational but also enjoyable and fun for your child.
